Digimon Digital Knights
A roleplay project of 5+ years between me and my close group of friends. When The Seven Great Demon Lords rise from the Dark Area and best the Royal Knights in combat, they are sent to the Human World by Seraphimon in order to find their human partners and make their way back to their home in order to reclaim their power and restore peace. But between the mysterious virus related to an ancient evil sealed away, and tensions between the group concerning the Knights previous involvements in such things as Project Ark, it'll be far from easy.

The Sidestory - Iliad
A lawless land governed by the principle of "might makes right", Iliad is a world of vibrant history and incredible tales. Words and names have meanings here which surpass individual lives.
There were once entities - Titans - who roamed the land before the Digimon. They were powerful and their existence threatened the integrity of Illiad. When the digimon came, they were little more than prey for the titans. Under such an oppressive rule, how could the core beliefs of Homeros take root? Utilizing its authority as the host, Homerostasis sealed the titans away.
The Olympians were a group of 12 powerful digimon who rose to power following the sealing of the titans. They were unique as their strength came from their lengthy lives and vast experiences. Despite being around to witness the tyrannical rule of the titans, they know what true freedom without restraint looks like. They then become rulers of Illiad, crafting domains governed by a central ideal which dominated their experiences as digimon.
Homerostasis was displeased. The presence of rulers once again challenged the core belief of "freedom above all". However, with beings who were as old as the world ( and who possessed such infallible wills ), it could not tamper with them.
Eventually, the Olympians recognized something occurring to them - a fatal flaw if you would.
They were aging.
They had begun to reach a point where they could no longer process new experiences and lessons. How could beings who were said to rule the land of tales no longer take in any more tales? This mortality was a problem.
Beyond that, certain ideals simply do not hold up across time. Whether as a result of exterior pressures or intrusive thoughts, one's own psyche will crack over time.
Jupitermon, utilizing his authority as God King, became the first Olympian to separate his "mortality" - his flaws - from his ego.
The others soon followed suit, giving rise to artefacts which stored their previously lived experiences. These devices also served as the anchors to their first lives and a reminder to who they really were.
This became a cycle for the group, with each "rebirth" leaving the Olympians as digitama scattered around the world. Jupitermon oversaw this cycle, being the only Olympian to not be reborn. Instead, when the time came for the others to be reborn, Jupitermon simply "shed" his acquired doubts and vices - anything he deemed unnecessary in order to function as a ruler.
However, this function served as the basis for a plan which Homerostasis would use to destroy the Olympians.
By shedding everything save for his ego and authority ( and keeping his age ), Jupitermon resembled a digimon less and less. His form changed, becoming a reflection of the power he wielded being unaffected by a persona. His voice became empty despite still carrying the same might.
This left a husk of what was once Jupitermon sitting on the throne of Mount Olympos.
A husk with might is what Homerostasis needed to topple the eons of rule that the Olympians had amassed.
Time passed, cycles lived, and the day of reckoning arrived. Homerostasis, using the entire processing power of Homeros, took control of Jupitermon. It slaughtered the Olympians and shattered the artefacts across Iliad.
However, this action did not come without a cost. The entire might of Homeros had been funneled into Jupitermon - a godly being - in order to keep it from acting on its rooted values and seeking out the Olympians. This action left Iliad without a host computer capable of doing automated fixes and patches to the world. Iliad truly became a lawless land, with the ideal which Homeros acted by taking precedence. Currently, the world appears fragmented, with areas undergoing sporadic and uncontrolled changes under the guise of "freedom for all".
